Gamification – We are NOT playing games here!

Gaming is not only the most popular form of entertainment in Europe as well as many other places worldwide, but also a major driver of innovation:  Big Data started with gaming GPUs (Graphic Processing Units); Robots play soccer; and Google’s AI plays (and, in 2016, wins) against the Grand Master of “GO” – a highly complex board game.

Gamification is the application of game-playing elements in other areas of activity. The afternoon session of this year’s ARIT is all about creating knowledge (“Wissen schaffen”) through gamification.
